(5) Scientific Assembly 2009 (6) Bomford Prize. (1) The General Assembly will take place July 2 - 13, 2007 in Perugia, Italy. see http://www.iugg2007perugia.it . The draft IAG program can be found at /http://www.gfy.ku.dk/~iag/IAG_program_07_rev2.htm As a national correspondent you are a member of IAG Council and should be present at the council meetings. If you are not able to be present, you must appoint another delegate. In this case I need a letter of appointment from you or the IUGG National Committee president, to be delivered to me before the first council meeting. A draft agenda for the council meetings can be found at http://www.gfy.ku.dk/~iag/COUAGENDA07.pdf (2) Please note, that IAG will make around 30 grants in the range of USD 1000 - 1500 available for young participants or participants from developing countries with accepted abstracts. So, please encourage potential grantees to submit abstracts. Grant applications can be submitted with the registration, and should not be send to IAG directly. (3) On the agenda you will find a point concerning change of statutes and by-laws. A group preparing changes has been establiched by the Executive committee and has Honorary President Klaus-Peter Schwarz as president, see Statutes para. 6. You are however entitled to submit changes directly to the Central Bureau. Please send these changes before Jan. 1, 2007. (4) National reports, (see By-Laws, para. 1.5b). This is to invite you to submit a national report to the IAG General Assembly. The report should preferably be organized in chapters corresponding to the topics of the IAG Commissions (see Geodesists Handbook). Lists of publications by scientists from your country, reports on major field activities and data collection are especially welcome. The reports should be in electronic form as a pdf-files or be available on the internet from your home-page. In case this is not possible, the report will be made available via the IAG home-page. Please send the report electronically before June 15, 2007 or bring the report with you to Sapporo on a CD. The Central Bureau will consider producing a CD with the National Reports, contingently on the same CD on which the "Travaux" will be stored. If you are not able to produce an electronic copy, please produce hard-copies for distribution in Perugia. 125 copies are needed. (5) Scientific Assembly 2009, cf. By-Laws para. 3.2. This is to invite you to submit applications for holding the next IAG Scientific Assembly in 2009. The decision on the location of this meeting will be made by the IAG Council in Perugia. To provide all members of the Council in advance with the relevant information, we have made a questionnaire that is attached to this e-mail. We would ask you to fill in this questionnaire if you want to organize this important meeting. We would like to send this information in a standardized form to all council members before the Sapporo meeting to give them a chance to study the material. We would then ask a representative of your organisation to make a 10 minute presentation at the Council meeting Monday, July 09, 19 - 21. In this presentation you can point out the specific advantages of the proposed venue for this meeting. If you would like to distribute additional material (brochures on the city or the meeting place) to the members of the Council, please feel free to either mail it to them or to distribute a package at Perugia. Please send the questionnaire back to the Central Bureau by June 1, 2007. (6) Bomford prize.
